Dave's Testimony in church on August 7, 2022 (expanded version)
I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father
(in partnership with a Heavenly Mother who doesn't get much publicity)

That we each are his sons or daughters.

So we all - everyone in the world - are brothers and sisters and should each be treated with kindness and respect.

That He decided to send us all down to earth to gain experience and face troubles and trials.

That in the beginning He chose Jesus to be the Christ and to suffer and die to give us an infinite atonement which does so much more for each of us than we can comprehend.  That this benefits all the billions and billions of people who will ever live on earth.

That He chose the Holy Spirit to simultaneously give constant guidance, comfort and warning to everyone on earth who will learn to listen.

That at various times He gives us tools to help us.  In the messiness and evil that is in the world today, He gives us lots of tools.

These tools include:

BLESSINGS

We have hands on priesthood blessings that always have to be for others.  You can't give that kind of blessing to yourself.

But anyone - young or old, male or female - can ask for blessing for themselves or for others in prayer.

PRAYER

Silent or vocal or coordinated with the prayers of others.

Just like for Islam, five times a day is good.  With each of your 3 meals, when you get up and when you go to bed.

SCRIPTURES

In olden days there might be one set of scriptures for a town or a parish.  Just the priest had access.

We all can have access to all the scriptures - 24/7 - anywhere in the world - on our phones.

With the Library app you can download the scriptures and other content so that you have access on your phone even when there is no internet or wifi.

(The app is available for pads or phones with title of Library or Gospel Library with author Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and with a logo that looks like

These scriptures have footnotes, dictionary, cross-references and a Come Follow Me lesson plan.

Phone App

The phone app mentioned has a wealth of other information available in many languages around the world.

Magazines, movies, videos, and articles filled with guidance.

One special section is titled Life Help and is filled with articles all sorts of challenges we face in life - death, finances, grief, mental health etc.

The sub-section called Self-Reliance has links to the various Self-Reliance manuals that are used for classes or for self-study.

I testify that God gives us many tools to help us with the challenges of this life.

I am so grateful for all of these.

In the name of Jesus Christ

Amen
